For over thirty years I've had an
abiding interest in mushrooms. I've
foraged for mushrooms in the
mountains and canyons of New Mexico
and woodland areas of Kansas.
Earlier this summer while reading Paul
Stamet's books "Mycelium Running"
and "Growing Gourmet and Medicinal
Mushrooms" I was also working on this
painting. So with the feeling that my
reading and reverence for mushrooms
influenced my line and color I named
the work "Holy Mycelium".

Rich Thibodeau paints large lyrical
abstractions. His work is oil or acrylic
on linen or clay panels. Rich says of
his work, "It's your color and my line.
