Dennis Flores fashions and
fabricates gem and semi-precious
stones, ancient Trade Beads,
contemporary silver and glass beads
into works of wearable art.

The art of making and wearing beads
can be traced back to 38.000 BC.
Beads originally were made of stone,
bone, fossils and shells. In the
sixteenth century bead making
reached new heights in Europe with
the making of glass beads. The glass
beads, "Trade Beads" as they were
known, became an item for barter
worldwide.

Dennis has resided on the plains and
woodlands of Kansas most of his life.
He is an avid collector of antiques
and collectibles. He currently lives on
a wooded bend of the lazy Smoky
Hill River near Marquette where he
gardens and pursues a passion for
making wearable art.
